There is a fine line between reality and the internet now, we have a billion year old language that now has words unheard of, before the dawn of the online word. Google it, tweet it are normal language tools, have you tried Amazon, compare it online and many more, the online world has been seeping in to our normal lives for years now and it is not going to get any easier.
I read a blog today about 2010 being the year that the internet bleeds in to reality, apart from the fact they missed it by around 2 years, it was sarcastic in tone at best.
For me the line between online and reality is blurring on a daily basis, tweet dates, facebook parties, changes in language, our working environment, travel, media, the list goes on. The immersion in the social world and the crossover in to our normal lives is almost complete, it is a really slow version of the matrix, i can now look at my life through a 14″ LCD screen, manage it, run it but not quite live it, not yet, but if Avatar or Surrogates is anywhere near the future, it won’t be long.
2010 is definitely the year of the digital life..
